Le Platane  (Provence ⁄ France)  (Maximum number of guests: 10)

The authentic, Provencal country house “Le Platane” enjoys a wonderful setting between a sunflower field and a wild flower prairie, just outside Europe’s capital antique market town, Isle sur la Sorgue. The old beamed ceilings and the hand-crafted tiled floors create a country feel in the otherwise modernly equipped house. The décor, which has been influenced by the travels of the owner, especially in North Africa, gives the villa – despite the diverse influences - a harmonic ambience. The spaciously arranged house provides many cozy, relaxing seating areas. The old trees and the 18m long Swimming pool with pool house dominate the garden. At the foot of the garden runs a tributary of the river Sorgue, which, by canoe, makes a pleasant 20 minute trip into the town.
In the medieval times L’Isle sur la Sorgue was called ‘Insula’, because it was virtually located on an island in the middle of wetlands. It was dried up through the creation of channels. The picturesque, 200 year old wooden wheels as well as the numerous little bridges over the Sorgue, which are frequently surrounded by flourishing flowers, still coin the scenery today.
