The towns of Bellagio, Menaggio and Cadenabbia in the middle of the lake are easy to reach. From Pianello you can make various excursions across the lake. The nearest tennis court is approx. 5 min away from the villa; a sailing school is in 200m distance. Also a pizzeria, a bakery and newsagents are nearby. Also a supermarket is within walking distance from the villa.
Cremia and Santa Maria Rezzonico are smaller localities on the western bank of Lake Como. In San Vito at the lake there are two restaurants as well as shopping facilities for the daily needs. The neighbouring towns of Menaggio, Dongo und Gravedona are also worth seeing. There is some nightlife. In Menaggio the whole year round vernissages, concerts and festivals take place. The fashion metropolis of Milan is only approx. 60km away.
